Página 10 de 10 However, a drawback was detected. The video card includes a heat sink that refrigerates the mosfets. With standard refrigeration, it recieves some air that escapes from the cooler, but unfortunately, with the NV Silencer 5, the heat sink is left under the plastic case. This means that it will have to work in a passive way, with practically no space to allow the necessary passage of air. This problem can be solve just by installing a fan blowing over that area but, we believe that this could be improved by means of a duct that takes the air from the NV Silencer 5 fan.
In conclusion, the NV Silencer 5 is a cooler aimed at high-end video cards. Each of its components separately have a fantastic behavior. Both the heat sink and the fan play their part very well, dropping the termperature up to 20 °C in comparison to the original cooler of the video card. As regards the noise, we can say that it is practically unperceptible. So, we believe that the main characteristics of a cooler were easily met. We also consider it important to highlight the cost-benefit relation between the product price (U$S 40) and its top quality. It is possible to get much more from the NV Silencer 5, though. Of course, if you are willing to sacrifice some silence... you know,in those moments when the passion for overclocking is stronger than what our ears can actually tolerate...
So, for all the above mentioned reasons, Tortugahard highly recommends Arctic-Cooling's NV Silencer 5 and awards it with its highest distinction.
