Página 9 de 14 The Installation Once introduced the components, we begin with the kit installation. Together with the numbered parts comes a DVD with instructions that includes different tasks, from basic mounting to drainage, and the correct way of making a hole for mounting a fan. This may be unnecessary for the geek but, for us, it was good to see someone real working and showing how things are done in a pleasant and relaxed way instead of reading an ordinary installation sheet. It should also be considered that this kit is aimed to users who have never installed a water system before nor seen how to install one, so the easier it is explained, the better. We are trully convinced that the inclusion of this clear, simple and concise DVD was a smart choice. We could not have asked for more.
The kit’s installation took us about one hour (in the meantime, many pictures were taken -more than the ones shown here- all of them necessary to keep a record of the entire process). We think this to be enough time for an inexperienced user, who will not have all the distractions we had and who will check everything several times before putting it to work.
As it is shown, there is a small span between the radiator and the fan. In order to fix it, a gasket was put to seal it, knowing that the ideal solution would be adding a fairing to separate the two components so as to avoid ‘dead zones’ in the air passage through the radiator. We chose this quick solution to avoid the addition of elements that do not belong to the original kit.
This is a detail to be taken into account, if we consider that both parts here are made of plastic, and could be damaged if tightening is excessive. The installation was very simple, as it is a single water block system. This is precisely what makes it strong. The only problem we had was with the reservoir due to the type of case it was mounted. As a result, the passage of tubing was somewhat problematic (although, it was quicky solved) and it was not possible to move the reservoir freely, this beign an essential factor for the loading and subsequent location in its definite position.
